Our Volunteer Philosophy · Why Join

More Than Giving — Growing Together

When you join as a volunteer, you'll first receive coffee training to master brewing, latte art and service skills, so you can truly make a difference. Every shift of service earns you "bean" points, which you can redeem for coffee products or courses. We believe in a virtuous circle:

Training & Philosophy

Coffee Training Included When You Join

We provide foundational coffee training to every volunteer — from understanding coffee and brewing techniques to latte art and customer service — so you not only lend a hand, but also take away a practical skill.

Standout volunteers even have the chance to advance to instructor's assistant, and on towards a career as a professional barista. We hope every volunteer finds growth and direction through service.

Frequently Asked Questions

You Might Be Wondering

How do I get my deposit back?

After you complete your volunteer service, we refund it in full via your original payment method, with no handling fees.

Do beans expire?

Beans have an expiry date, and we'll remind you to redeem them before they lapse. Your membership service hours, however, accumulate permanently and never expire.

I work or study and don't have much time — can I still do this?

Absolutely. Volunteer hours are very flexible — taking part once or twice a month on average is enough, and you can arrange shifts around your own schedule. If you have special circumstances, you're always welcome to talk to us.

I have no coffee experience at all — can I join?

Yes! We'll provide coffee training from scratch, no experience needed — just a heart for serving the community.

The HK$300 deposit is a burden for me — what can I do?

We don't want anyone to be held back by cost. You can apply for a deposit waiver or a sponsored place (places are limited) — please get in touch with us when you sign up or by email at hello@coffee-training.org.hk.
